This is the second beloved mother in this short series of mine. This is Coral. She was Candy's mother who died during the complications of labor. Her last words were imparted to her husband:

"She's so beautiful. I'm so glad I got to see our beautiful daughter's face. She will always be surrounded by love. Please, let her know that her mother loved her so very much. And never forget that I love you...so...much...my love."

Coral was a free-spirited queen with a generous nature and adventurous heart. She was witty and fun, compassionate and kind. She loved life and loved to express her liveliness through dance. She was an incredible dancer, at once graceful and wild in her movements and entirely captivating. It's believed that it is from her mother that Candy inherited her athletic tendencies, not simply from growing up in a house full of rambunctious males.

In her sadder moments, Candy often wonders how she would have grown had her mother lived to see her into adulthood. Her mother was a lady through and through, nothing at all like her tomboy daughter who is often considered the youngest son by friends of the family. She sometimes wonders if she is a disappointment in her boyish ways, but knows she'll never truly know the answer to that question. Yet, with her father's assurance, and the knowing of her mother's final words, she chooses to believe that even if she may have not made her mother as proud as she could, that she will always have the love of a mother she never had the gift of knowing.
